International Service Projects

Every year, CRC Davis takes on multiple international service projects.

The first project, which we do every year, is called Baby Packs. For this project, our members hand sew bibs and put together care packages for new mothers in Brazil. All of the donations and proceeds from our annual Baby Big Night go towards Baby Packs. To learn more about Baby Packs, visit their website at Baby Packs.

Our second project changes every year. This year, we have decided to donate to the International Rescue Committee for the Rohingya refugee crisis. The Rohingya are Muslims from Myanmar’s Rakhine State and they are the world’s largest stateless group, as well as one of the most persecuted. As a whole, they suffer from restrictions on movement, marriage, education, and religious freedom. The International Rescue Committee is currently providing Rohingya refugee families with water, food security, protection, and health care in Myanmar. They are doing truly amazing things in the world; you have to check out their website to really fathom how much they are doing. Learn more about the International Rescue Committee and the ongoing Rohingya Refugee Crisis by checking out their website, Rescue.org.

We also collect money every year for Rotary’s amazing social cause, End Polio Now. We collect money at every general meeting to go towards vaccinations for children in the three countries where polio still remains: Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Nigeria. These vaccinations only cost around 60 cents and has the ability to save so many lives. To learn more about End Polio Now, you can visit their website End Polio Now.
