This is the weekly update for the 2/2/10 general meeting! Hopefully everyone's wave of midterms are coming to an end soon because we have some great events planned for you! As always, here are a few friendly reminders from the day's meeting and if you'd like to attend any of the events, simply email the commissioner in charge.
Just a quick reminder, be sure to stop by the Silo next week (Tuesday through Thursday) for our Valentine's Bake Sale! We'd love if you guys come by even if it is to just say "Hi" as you are walking to class =).

Rotary International Convention - Sunday - Wednesday, June 20-23, 2010, in Montreal, Canada.
Meet Rotarians from all over the world! To attend the event, pay the $100 registration fee. Email the president for more information and the link, or google it!.
BIG NIGHT!
Friday, 1/29 - We will be putting fliers together for the event from 11 AM - 1 PM @ the Hallmark Inn (110 F Street)
Friday, 2/5 - We will be setting up the silent auction in two shifts: 1) 12 PM - 2 PM & 2) 2 PM - 4 PM @ the Hallmark Inn
Saturday, 2/6 - The BIG NIGHT! Location: El macero Country Club. We have three possible shifts for this event.
1) 3 PM - 5:45 PM: SET UP. This requires no dress code. (There is no volunteer limit on this shift.)
2) 5 PM - 7:30 PM: Registration and Greeting. There is a dress code for this shift. (Requires 3 more volunteers)
3) 7:30 PM - 11 PM: Dinner, Live auction, and clean up. The dress code also applies to this shift. (7+ volunteers)
Picnic Day Committee
Get more involved in our biggest fundraiser of the year! We need people to coordinate volunteers, decorations, and prepare ice cream sandwiches and Italian sodas! Email the president if you are interested in joining the committee.

Freakin Awesome Friday: Quilting #3 - Friday, 2/5, 3PM-6PM, Gilmore Study Lounge -- meet at MU Flagpole @4PM if you don't know where Gilmore is located
We will be sewing together panels to make sheets! Be there :) These quilts will be going towards the Disneyland project! Be sure to attend if you want that ticket to Disneyland!
Extra Helpings - Monday, 2/8, 11-2PM @ MU II (Second floor of the Memorial Union)
Extra Helpings is a continuation of Freakin' Awesome Fridays. If you can't attend on Fridays, here's another chance to volunteer! Or, if you're one of those people who just can't get enough of service, feel free to come as well!
Baby Paks Committee - Wednesday, 2/3, 12-1PM @ MU II (Second floor of the Memorial Union)
Join us as we work out the logistics for our international project, Baby Paks! This is going to be a huge project, so we'll need a lot of help. It's also a great way to obtain some leadership experience!
Health and Safety Fair Committee - Thursday, 2/4, 4-5PM @ Griffin Lounge
Do you have knowledge of street smarts that you're willing to share? If so, please join us as we work on the design and presentation of our booth on street smarts for the Health and Safety Fair!
Haiti Service Project - Due the Weekend of Feb 13th so bring items to next meeting!
This is a Haiti relief project with the Davis Community Church. They are collecting combs and nail clippers, and we'd like to encourage a friendly competition. Whoever collects the most items by the next meeting will get a nice prize!

Valentine's Day Bake Sale - Tuesday (2/9), Wednesday (2/10), and Thursday (2/11); 10-11AM, 11-12PM, 12-1PM, 1-2PM @ the SILO
Buy that special cupcake for that special someone ;) Look for our ad at the Silo! We will be selling cupcakes for $1-$2 and if you would like to help sell cupcakes at any of the days/shifts listed above, please pick a shift(s) that would you like to help and let us know!
Mondavi Center Fundraiser - Wednesday, 2/17, @ 5-10PM
Concession event at the Mondavi Center. You will be serving drinks and food during this event and there is a dress code. We need 10 volunteers and at least 5 must be 21 and over. If you are interested in volunteering and would like more information about the event and the dress code, please email our finance directors.
